Chapter 1: Summary

David Barry was born in Ireland. In 1882 at the age of 35 years he was living in Aberbeeg, Wales, when he married Margaret Davies. Margaret was 27 years old and born in Jamaica. David's father, Robert Barry, was already deceased at this time. Margaret Davies father, Thomas Davies, a sugar planter, was also dead at this time. Together David and Margaret Barry had 8 children. The third youngest of these children was Eva Kathleen Imelda Barry. Eva served in the Women's Land Army, and it was at this time that she met her future husband Albert Williams. Eva married in 1924 at the age of 30 years. They settled in Bristol and together had 3 children: David, Margaret and Mary Williams.
