Newspaper Article on the death of Mary Verry 1871
Details:
Mary Verry's death certificate named her cause of death as being a 'Sudden death by the visitation of God.' Furthermore there was an inquest held to investigate this mysterious death. As newspapers often reported the findings of inquests, an investigation of local newspapers of the time was done and the following article was discovered.
The details of the final words and moments of Mary Verry's life read as follows: '... 'Oh my poor head,' and putting her hand to her head 'it is the cold.' The poor woman then fell to the ground before the fire and never spoke afterwards ...' However, despite this sudden death a medical examination concluded that she had 'died from disease of the heart.'
