World War 1 Soldier's Demobilization Account 1920

This is the demobilization account of Cecil Withers on being discharged from the army.
In a letter dated 20 December 1920 Cecil received a letter from the Soldiers Award Branch of the Ministry of Pensions as follows: '... I am directed by the Minister of Pensions to inform you that a gratuity of the amount stated on the accompanying form of Certificate has been awarded to you in consequence of your discharge from the Army as medically unfit ...' The value of the War Gratuity was 8 Pounds and 10 Shillings.
Other earnings were: 28 days furlough (i.e. leave) at 4 pounds 13s. 4d. ; 28 days ration allowance at 2 pounds 18s. 4d.
